As a new year starts, we want to share with you our team’s BIM resolutions. We all know that sticking to our resolutions is really hard, so we’ll do our best to keep all four of them.

1.    Share experiences
Our involvement in social media proved that we could progess much faster when we share the information and we decided to apply the Facebook and Twitter formula to BIM. Sharing experiences, good moves (and bad ones), ask questions, discuss opinions… imagine all the possibilities! We therefore make the resolution to open dialog with anyone in the construction industry that’s interested in BIM implementation, production and development and all those who wish to pave the way to BIM in Québec.

2.    Keep a constant watch
It’s quite easy and totally human to believe that we’ve found the one and only way to BIM success; therefore, we made the resolution to keep a weekly watch on websites and discussion groups dedicated to BIM. In this area where knowledge and technology are evolving so quickly, reviewing our favourite blogs and forums for ideas, inspiration and answers is essential to our internal developments. They will then be even closer to the industry’s needs.

3.    Be more involved in BIM development in Quebec and North America
Our literary review has shown that North America and especially the province of Quebec are lagging behind for the implementation of new construction technologies. Cadmax thus resolve to be more involved in BIM development in Québec by taking part in different workgroups. We hope to see you too at Revit-BIM-Quebec meetings or participate in the development of a Quebec BIM standard along with us!

4.    Sell consultant and BIM implementation services
Cadmax’s innovative capacity goes beyond its production capacity. This is why we resolved to export our know-how by offering consultant services to the industry. Like we said in resolution #2, we don’t pretend that we know everything, but we do have an extensive experience of construction technologies and BIM that could help you move forward quickly and get ahead of your competitors.

What about your BIM resolutions for 2011? Will we work together on your next project to benefit from the advantages of BIM?
